BDB  hosts session on developments and challenges in diamond identification

Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) hosted a session on the latest developments and challenges in distinguishing lab growns from natural diamonds, as part of its ongoing Leadership Series.Dr. Wuyi Wang, vice president of research and development at GIA, presented the session and said the ability to differentiate lab growns from natural diamonds with absolute certainty was vital to maintaining customer confidence.

 

"GIA's decades of independent research into natural and laboratory-grown diamonds is the foundation of our ability to differentiate them with complete certainty," he said. "This helps ensure consumer confidence in gems and jewelry, which is vital to the gem and jewelry industry."

 

Sriram Natarajan, managing director of GIA India, who facilitated the session, said he and his colleagues were committed to making their research accessible to the global research community, to the public, and to the gem and jewelry trade."Our mission to ensure trust in gems and jewelry is built on nearly a century of pioneering research and education," he said.
