At Cannes, Cate Blanchett wore a bespoke Louis Vuitton high jewellery design created by Francesca Amfitheatrof for the premiere of The Apprentice, the biopic of Donald Trump. The stunning piece was recycled from previous designs and allowed Blanchett to showcase her sustainable credentials.
It includes 49 white Ayoka and 33 grey Tahitian pearls, as well as 633 diamonds from three of the maison’s previous high jewellery designs which have been upcycled for this bespoke piece. The metallic grey and white pearls are hand-strung in one fluid line across the chest and back, interrupted only by an Art Deco-inspired assortment of bezel-set diamonds and enameled pavé motifs around both shoulders. Blanchett paired this with a thigh-split silk dress in black and rose pink.
