Trigem has launched a new boiling plant at the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) that will have the capacity to process 1.4 million carats of diamonds each month.
The facility, which was launched in partnership with Antwerp-based entity Charlotte Quality Boiling, is located in the Jewellery and Gemplex Building in Jumeirah Lakes Towers. Trigem believes it will complement the colored-gemstone, diamond and jewelry facility it launched last year, offering a one-stop shop for mining companies and traders, Trigem CEO David Zabinsky said Tuesday. “This new state-of-the-art facility will support the growth of Dubai’s status as the world’s leading diamond-trading hub,” added DMCC CEO Ahmed Bin Sulayem. “We are confident that this development will help drive trade and encourage more businesses to set up in DMCC.” In January, Trigem also signed an agreement with United Arab Emirates security and logistics firm Transguard to provide diamond-transportation services.
