The Gujarat Regional Office of the Gem and Jewelry Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) recently hosted a seminar in Ahmedabad to educate trade members about exporting small parcels and how to take advantage of GJEPC initiatives. Over 200 participants attended the event on February 27th, which was chaired by Vijay Mangukiya, Regional Chairman Gujarat. Other dignitaries present included Jigar Soni, President of the Jewelry Association Ahmedabad (JAA), and Vivek Sharma, President of Shypmax.
During the seminar, Mangukiya discussed Ahmedabad’s potential for exporting diamond-studded jewellery and GJEPC’s efforts to collaborate with the Customs department to simplify exports from the city. Soni expressed his gratitude to GJEPC for providing solutions to the concerns raised by JAA over time.
Nitin Khandelwal, Deputy Director of GJEPC, shared his experiences working on the e-commerce policy and the challenges faced by GJEPC in finalising it. Vivek Sharma explained the process of exporting small parcels directly from the factory to end customers worldwide. Additionally, Rajat Wani, Assistant Director of GJEPC, informed the audience about the upcoming IIJS Tritiya in Bengaluru and ongoing visitor registration.
