Kimberley International Diamond Symposium will held from 23 - 27 August 2023at Horseshoe Inn and Convention Centre, Kimberley.This symposium will focus on research and new technologies being applied across all facets of the industry, diamond exploration and mining, including alluvial diamonds. New findings relating to kimberlite exploration will also be presented.
Technological developments relating to diamond processing, recoveries, and security, particularly of large high value diamonds and exceptional, which are key considerations in the mining and recovery process given the generally high value of the product, will also be addressed. World-wide activities of diamond explorers and miners, senior and Junior, will be covered, as will the state of play of the international diamond business.
Speakers include Paul Zimnisky, a leading global diamond industry analyst based in the New York City metro area specializing in global diamond supply/demand fundamentals and the companies operating within the industry; Barend Petersen the Executive Chairman of De Beers Consolidated Mines, the world’s leading diamond company dealing in the entire value chain from exploration to sales and everything in between, including the industrial diamond sector; Hero Kalra, a leading diamond researcher from India; and Dr Geoffrey Howarth, an igneous petrologist and economic geologist from UCT .
This symposium will also acknowledge and pay respects to several pioneers of diamond and mantle mineral R&D, exploration and evaluation of deposits, and the mining of kimberlites and alluvial deposits, both land and sea.
