Los Angeles-based artist and jeweller, Maggi Simpkins, has collaborated with Bose on a sparkling pair of diamond-set earbuds, worn by musician Kenzie Ziegler at the Billboard Women in Music Awards.
The custom Bose Ultra Open Earbuds were set with an array of white diamonds, fusing functionality and fashion together in perfect harmony.
Many of the diamonds for Simpkins’ earbud design were custom cut to fit the headphones, before being set in yellow gold.
“The objective was to create something noticeable and sparkly on stage. I wanted the buds to be an eye-catching statement piece, but didn’t want them to dominate her look,” said Maggi Simpkins.
It’s not the first time the tech company has collaborated with a fine jeweller. Bose has also commissioned artist Victor Solomon to craft a custom pair of gold plated, diamond-set earbuds for USA Basketball stars Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton. Meanwhile, for the 2024 Grammy Awards, the brand worked with Atlanta-based jewellery firm Icebox to encrust another pair of its earbuds with 365 diamonds for Colombian singer Maluma, who wore them on the red carpet.
