The new Surat Diamond Bourse, supposed to be the largest corporate building of the world, is to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Khajod, Surat this month.
The Diamond Traders’ Association and Khajod Development Authority built the SDB.Surat will be the diamond trade centre of India, replacing Mumbai.
Surat Diamond Bourse is an integration of a high-density commercial architecture amalgamated with an efficacious environmental concept. Mythological facts foster the statement – “The chakra of Universe revolves within Panchtatva”. The astonishing 5 elements of the nature - Air, Water, Fire, Earth, Sky, when in balance, bring in peace, prosperity, happiness & success.
Built on 35.54 acres of land, the trading centre reportedly measures 6.7 million square feet. SDB consists of nine towers – each 81.9m in height with 15 floors. It has 4,500 offices and a parking space covering 20 lakh square feet.
