Union Minister Piyush Goyal has launched a new website for the Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ), Mumbai, while also reviewing the progress of construction at the facility's Mega CFC project. The aim of the project, which costs INR100 crore ($13.6m), is to boost gems and jewellery exports through skilling and cutting-edge technology, offering MSMEs access to the facility's state-of-the-art equipment and modern training at a nominal charge. As of 5 March, the laying of the first and second-floor slabs of Mega CFC has been completed, with the laying of the basement cover slab currently ongoing. The facility will include advanced equipment such as CNC machines, colour laser printers, 3D printers, and refining capabilities.
