Bright Young Gems, the emerging industry talent and mentoring initiative for graduating jewellery designers, has been relaunched as Bright New Gems as it opens for applications for the 2023 programme. The initiative has been renamed in response to feedback from colleges and students, who wanted a more inclusive name.
The programme is now in its eighteenth year and supports six winners with their first commercial platform. The National Association of Jewellers, Retail Jeweller, and the Benevolent Society are among the industry bodies supporting the initiative. For the third year in a row, the six winning Bright New Gems will showcase their collections at the two-day UK Jewellery Festival 2023 Trade Event in September.
